Buying windows
| Timing | What happens | Buyer action |
|---|---|---|
| Aug–Sep | New batches photographed, stock thin | Best price, highest batch uncertainty |
| Oct–Nov | Albums expand, size runs complete | Safest window for size-critical orders |
| Dec–Jan | Discount blocks (3MadMan 20%-off style rows, ChaosMade flash) | Cheap, but shipping lines saturate |
| Feb–Mar | Remnant and colour-specific stock | Good for odd sizes, bad for consistency |
What to verify on a winter item
- Fill: “real down quality” is a claim; ask fill type and fill weight in the chat, and the fill tag in the photos.
- Shell: denier and membrane name. A waterproof claim without a membrane name is a coating.
- Baffles: count them in a flat-lay photo; migration cold spots appear where stitching is sparse.
- Hardware: zipper brand and pull type are the cheapest place for a batch to differ.
- Volume: parkas bill on volume; plan the box before ordering two.
Where the price is honest
Price-publishing albums are your calibration tool. DreamRemake’s ¥240 Gamma MX hoody against a ¥450 Thorium SV-style goose-down hoody, or NewDP’s €69.7/¥490 shiny down jacket, tells you the plausible band before you accept any quote elsewhere.
One structural note: winter stock is where the “in stock!” wording matters most, because album photos outlive inventory by weeks. Ask for the live stock list, and if the seller maintains one (MVT publishes a Stock check folder), quote from it rather than from the grid.
