Watch rows: movement, caseback and the bracelet question
A watch album sells the dial. The caseback, where the movement and the reference are stamped, is usually the one photo missing. Ask for it, plus a short video of the seconds hand sweeping: a smooth sweep suggests a mechanical movement, a one-tick-per-second jump is quartz. That single clip prevents most surprises in this category.
Case diameter and bracelet link count are the fit variables. A 42 mm case on a 16 cm wrist wears very differently from the same watch on an 18 cm wrist, and links removed for sizing are rarely shipped back. Confirm the lug width too, because it determines whether an aftermarket strap will fit.
Water-resistance markings on fashion watches are claims, not certifications. Treat anything under 100 m as splash-resistant, and never swim with a watch whose crown is push-pull rather than screw-down. For shipping, quartz watches travel without restriction on most lines; mechanical ones benefit from being wound and padded.
