Hoodies: fleece weight, shrinkage and the print method
Two hoodies can look identical in an album and weigh 380 g or 620 g. Fleece weight (GSM) is the variable that determines warmth, drape and how the garment ages, and it is almost never printed in the row. Ask for the GSM and for the weight of the actual piece in your size.
Print method changes everything after five washes. Screen print sits on the fabric and cracks; DTF is softer but can fade; embroidery is the most durable and the most expensive. Ask for a close-up of the print edge and, if possible, a photo of the inside of the garment where the backing shows.
Hoodies shrink, and the shrink rate depends on the fleece and the wash. Expect 3–5% on a 100% cotton fleece and less on a poly blend. If you are between sizes, take the measurement chart from the seller and add the shrink allowance rather than sizing up blindly.
