Fee stack
| Charge | Typical basis | Negotiable? | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Goods price | Album quote | Sometimes, on volume | Always ask for the price “today” |
| Purchase/service fee | 0–8% of goods, or free | Yes | Sellers publishing agent links (SharkBreeder lists 7+) imply this is competitive |
| Domestic freight | Per parcel, ¥6–¥15 typical | No | Free-shipping thresholds at the seller change this |
| Storage | Free 30–90 days, then daily | Yes, via promos | The reason “wait for the batch” is cheaper than a second shipment |
| QC / extra photos | Free or small per-set fee | Yes | Ask before the parcel lands, not after |
| International freight | Per 500 g or volumetric | Line choice | The dominant cost for heavy items |
| Customs handling | Destination-dependent | No | Declared value rules differ per line |
Realistic landed-cost rules of thumb
- Two hoodies ≈ one hoodie price again in freight for most EU lines.
- Boots are the worst weight-to-value ratio in footwear; buy them inside a mixed box.
- A ¥155 budget tee only makes sense at 3+ units per shipment.
- Battery items (audio) often cannot share an air line with textiles, which splits your parcel and doubles handling.
Where buyers overspend
Shipping a half-built box. The savings from waiting one extra week for a batch routinely exceed the storage risk, and the seller’s discount windows (3MadMan and ChaosMade both run short 20%-off blocks) rarely align with the line you want.
A worked example with numbers visible in live albums: DreamRemake “¥400 Beta AR” + ¥10 domestic + 3% purchase fee + ~1.2 kg freight. On a standard EU air line at roughly ¥60–70 per 0.5 kg block, freight is ¥144–168 — that is 36–42% on top of the goods price, which is why the goods price is the least interesting number on the album page.
