T-shirts: GSM, neck ribbing and why the blank matters

The blank decides more than the graphic. A 180 gsm combed cotton tee and a 240 gsm heavyweight are different garments with different drape, and the same print looks premium on one and thin on the other. Ask for the GSM and the blank brand if the seller knows it.

Neck ribbing is the fastest tell of quality. A ribbed collar with elastane recovers its shape; a self-fabric collar stretches out after a month. Ask for a close-up of the collar stretched and released, and check whether there is a shoulder-to-shoulder taping inside.

Print durability follows the method: screen print for solid graphics, DTF for photographic detail, embroidery for logos. On dark shirts, a white underbase is what keeps colours opaque, and it is also what makes a print feel thick. Wash inside out, cold, and skip the dryer if you want the print to last.
